David "Dave" Gary Filippe, Sr., passed away at Sky Lakes Medical Center on January 7, 2020.

Dave was born in Yreka, California to Dan and Eva Flippe in 1943. He spent his early childhood along the Klamath River in Hornbrook, California, and loved playing on the steam train between Montague and his home.

The family relocated to Dorris, California, where he attended school and met the love of his life Donna Clark Filippe. After high school he joined the Army, and then worked in construction with older brother Dick Filippe. He ended working for Weyerhaeuser Fire Department in Klamath Falls and was very proud to be an EMT.

His pride and joy during his retirement were his grandchildren, which he proudly wore on his many hats.

His is survived by his wife Donna Filippe; daughter and son-in-law Deanna and Gary Lueker; sons Darrell Filippe and David Gary Filippe, Jr.; son-in-law Dennis Smith; and ten grandchildren. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother.
