Mary Carol Davis Christiaens McGee  (1933-2019)

On Thursday, October 10, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away suddenly and peacefully after a fall at the age of 86.  

Mary Carol was born in Wellsville, Utah on February 16, 1933 to Erma (Maughan) and Harrison Davis. She married Vallie Lawrence Christiaens in 1951. They raised their 4 wonderful children in Utah, California and Oregon and were later divorced. She married Howard Ellis McGee in 1982. They lived in Dairy, Oregon until his death in 2007.

Mary Carol worked at the Weyerhaeuser Tree Farm in Klamath Falls, Oregon and was the administrative assistant at a local radio station. She loved reading any and all books, gardening, fishing, and monthly luncheons with her girlfriends. She especially liked cats and collecting angels. She spent many vacations in Hawaii with her family and worked tirelessly gathering her family history for many years. She was filled with courage, kindness, positive energy and lots of love for everyone. She ended many conversations with “I love you.” She has left behind beautiful, strong footprints for us to follow.

Mary Carol was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harrison, husband Howard, son Steve, infant twin daughters Tawny Dee and Bonnie Lee, grandson Jason Lopez, and great-grandson Jon Trosper, Jr. She is survived by her children Kris (Dean) Warner, Debbie (Frank) Grant, Tracie (Greg) Chandler, daughter-in-law Glenda Christiaens, stepsons Walter (Sally) McGee and Howard McGee, Jr., 21 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. In addition, she will be sorely missed by her beloved cat “Dickens,” and grand-dogs Rayder and Rex.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18 at the Yonna Valley branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 26627 Highway 140 East, Bonanza, Oregon. Family will be greeting guests at 12:00 followed by services at 1:00. Interment will be at Klamath Memorial Park, 2680 Memorial Dr., Klamath Falls, Oregon at 3:30. Arrangements are under the direction of O’Hair-Wards Funeral Chapel 515 Pine Street, Klamath Falls, Oregon 97601.
