Albert "Al" Jones Obituary

Albert E. Jones, 78, Dairy, OR, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 in the Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls, OR. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Albert was born August 29th, 1942, in Vallejo, CA to Lloyd and Ruth (Flory) Jones, he is the oldest of 7 children. He grew up in Outlook, WA. Later he moved to Hood River where he graduated from WyEast High School in 1960. During his teen years, he worked on his family’s farm. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961. He attended basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San

Antonio, TX. He was stationed in England and Tripoli while on active duty. When he was discharged, he returned to Hood River and worked on his family’s dairy farm, Jones Boys Dairy. He also met the love of his life, Betty Lou Howard. They were married in 1965 and had 3 children – Jerry, Dennis, and Brenda. They made their home in Hood River and Al worked for B & D paving company. Al continued working with the paving company in Klamath Falls, OR, while also attending college at Oregon Technical Institute. He graduated with a degree in electronics, and he was employed by Putnam Logging repairing CB radios. He enlisted in the Oregon Air National Guard at Kingsley Field. He retired in January 1997 with 35 years of service. The family moved to Dairy, OR, in 1979 where he farmed and raised cattle.

Al enjoyed reading, going to the Dairy café, and visiting with his family and friends. He liked Hallmark movies or any movie with a good story. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening. He attended the Bible Baptist Church in Klamath Falls, OR. His faith was an important part of his life.

Al is survived by his wife, Betty, two sons Jerry (Liz) of Redmond, OR, and Dennis (Tammy) of Kindred, ND, and daughter Brenda (David) Cobb of Cresson, TX. He also has 3 grandchildren Russell (Elizabeth) Jones, Linsey (Dakota) Jones-Johnson, and Lauren Cobb and 2 great grandchildren, William, and Oliver Jones. He is also survived by his siblings, nieces, and nephews. Al is preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday April 7, 2021 at 10:00 AM in Bible Baptist Church, 4849 S. 6th St., Klamath Falls, Oregon. Burial will follow at Mt. Laki Cemetery, at 12:30 PM, located at  4775 Cross Rd., Klamath Falls, Oregon with Military Honors from Beale Air Force Base.
