Colleen Moore Mauch

    Colleen Moore Mauch passed away April 26, 2023, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She was born January 13, 1930, in Atoka Oklahoma, to Frank and Myrtle (Walton) Moore. Colleen is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Mauch, her two stepdaughters, Diana Fuhrman and Christa Johnson, and brother Noel Moore.  She was predeceased by her sister, Lula Mae Burnes and brother, Leon Moore

    Colleen moved to Tulelake, California in 1976, and married Joseph Mauch. They spent 47 wonderful years together. She always said, “the best decision I ever made was marrying Joe”.

    Colleen loved Jesus, studied the Bible, and was involved in both the Tulelake Presbyterian and Baptist churches. She was a wonderful crafter and loved to sew quilt, knit, crochet, embroider and paint. Her house was filled with numerous ribbons and awards for her beautiful creations, and she was frequently a top blue-ribbon winner at the Tulelake Butte Valley Fair.

    Colleen was very proud of her southern heritage and loved family, southern food, country music and square dancing. Elvis was a favorite, but she enjoyed any country artist and music was always a part of her home. As a young girl she played the guitar, and her two brothers and sister would frequently complete the ensemble.

    Despite her illness, she was fiercely independent and stubborn. She spoke her mind and wasn’t known to hold back. This was only matched by her strong love of family. She often spoke of her ‘Mama’ and how much she loved and appreciated her sacrifices. Colleen will be missed, but we know she would want us to celebrate her life.

    Memorial services will be held at the Tulelake Baptist Church on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 2:00pm. A private burial will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
