Daniel Ross Igou was born on September 25, 1960, in Duarte, CA and passed away quietly with family by his side at home in Klamath Falls, OR on Monday, February 21, 2022. He was 61 years old. He was survived by his wife of 13 years, Resa Moore, son Jason Igou (Layton, UT), daughter Nikkole Stewart (Pierre, SD), parents Kirk and Joyce Igou (Puyallup, WA), sisters Diana Gordineer (Puyallup, WA), Christine Lee (Puyallup, WA), brothers Kirk Igou (Apple Valley, CA), David Igou (OH), Ken Igou (Kent, WA), Kevin Igou (Larkspur, CO), grandchildren Elijah Igou, Rowdy Stewart (Mitchell, SD), Sadie Stewart (Mitchell, SD) and 14 nieces and nephews and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Daniel joined the Air Force right out of high school, and he served for 11 years. He started out in the fire department at Edwards Air Force Base in CA, went on to Wurtsmith AFB in Michigan, then on to Offutt AFB in Nebraska. In his last reenlistment, he was cross trained to aircraft maintenance at Norton AFB in CA. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he started a career at McDonnell Douglas.
He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He enjoyed being around family and mentoring the younger generation. His roommate called him “the spark plug”. In his spare time, he enjoyed being a horticulturist. If you needed help on any type of project, Dan was the man to go to. He helped everyone and wanted nothing in return.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.
