Daryle Zierke Obituary

Daryle Paul Zierke died peacefully at home on Wednesday October 28th.  A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 6, at O’Hair-Wards Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Ft. Klamath Cemetery.

Daryle was Born to Paul and Elsie (Koenen) Zierke on the family farm in Osceola County Iowa June 26,1931.  He always worked hard and excelled at whatever he did. Daryle served his country during the Korean war working onboard the USS Guadalupe as a Gunner's Mate.  In the late 1950s Daryle opened his own transmission shop in Danville California later relocating to Placerville California opening Placerville Transmission which he would work at for the rest of his career.  Retirement brought Daryle to Chiloquin Oregon where he could indulge his life-long love of farming and expanding his collection of antique tractors.

The impact of Daryle's life is felt most profoundly in the lives of his 17 children, 35 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and so many of the family and friends he collected along the way.  Daryle didn't know a stranger, everyone he met became important to him. You may not be listed but know you were loved. 

Daryle is survived by his children Paulene Dill, Pixie Souza, Paul Zierke, Patrick Zierke, Eric Zierke, Adolf Zierke, Rudolph Zierke, Randolph Zierke, Les Turner, Dan Turner, Georgette Hipp, Robert Ross, Grace Copeland.  Son in law Richard Meyer.  Brother Dennis Zierke.  Sister Donna Mae Scholtes.

Preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Geralin Zierke.  Daughter Kathleen Meyer.  Sons MacFarlan Smith, Jesse Smith, Edwin Booth.  Grandchildren Joseph Meyer, Joshua Ross.  Sisters Dixie Rigby, Darlene Wiese, Diana Maas, Doris Markman, Gloria Zierke.  Previous wives and mothers of his children, Arlene Ross, Kathleen Greene.
