Donald (Speed) Dale Carroll

Donald Dale (Speed) Carroll, 82 of Tulelake, CA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 2, 2020.

He was born August 19, 1937 in Winner, SD to Floyd and Alice Carroll, the 5th of their 8 children.

Speed married Tanya Kathleen Woods in Rapid City, SD on July 14, 1962.  They were married 58 years. He is survived by Tanya and their children:  Jim (wife) Shari, Jill (husband) Mason, Scott (wife) Erica, Christa (husband) Nathan, Toby Duran (wife) Cara; siblings Dar, Dick and Dixie; Only Quinn and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren;, as well as close cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his first child Laura Carroll, and siblings Gladys, Bob, Lucy, and Corky.

Speed enlisted in the US Navy at 17 and served until 1958. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends.  Throughout his years Speed wore many hats, such as Volunteer Fireman, Courier, Barbecue Cooker and Painter, just to name a few. Speed had a big heart and was known as a person who would do anything for anyone.

A celebration of life reception will be held at Winema Hunting Lodge in Tulelake, CA July 18th  at 3:00 pm. Interment services will be held at the National Cemetery in Eagle Point, OR on July 20th at 10:00 for immediate family.
