Obituary

Dorothy E. Lowell, a resident of Klamath Falls, died June 8, 2023, at the age of 89. A funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 23, in the chapel at Klamath Memorial Park.

Dorothy was born Lena Elizabeth Dorothy Collier, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada on Dec. 10, 1933, to Bert & Leila Collier. She married J. Dean Lowell on June 1, 1952. The couple were married for 49 years. Throughout her life she resided in Cedar Falls, IA; Des Moines, IA; Woodridge, IL; Sayreville, NJ; Hacienda Heights, CA; Fairfax, VA; Broomfield, CO; and Manassas, VA, before retiring and moving back to Klamath Falls.

Dorothy worked 24 years in customer service for JCPenny., in six different stores. She had the pleasure of working in one of the largest stores outside Washington, DC, and worked the day Prince Charles and Princess Diana viewed the English display that was set up.

After retirement, she volunteered for Hospice, working in their thrift store for 13 years; as well as the Red Cross blood donation site.

Her family will always fondly remember her traditional Christmas morning casserole; the Super Bowl parties that she and her husband hosted; and the Saturday morning breakfasts at the Klamath Grille.

Dorothy is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Steve & Rene Lowell of Klamath Falls, Jeff & Stephanie Lowell of Corona, CA; grandchildren Brian, Michael, Dylan, Hailey, Landen, Paige; great grandchildren Robinson, Miles, and Kalani; brother and sister-in-law Doug & Barb Collier of Klamath Falls; sister Connie Breazeale of Bonanza, OR; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. Dean Lowell, and brothers Ernie Collier and William Collier.

Her family would like thank Pacifica Assisted Living, and Crystal Terrace Memory Care for the tremendous care and support she received. Thanks also go out to Dr. Erin Gonzales for her excellent care; and to Klamath Hospice for the support, encouragement and love shown to her and her family.
