Adored by many, Edmond Walter "Ed" Andersch went home to be with the Lord in heaven on March 2, 2023.
Ed was born in Hollywood, CA on June 11, 1934, and resided in Klamath Falls his entire life.
Ed graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and remained a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church until his passing. He was a devout Catholic, who never missed attending mass unless he was physically unable to, always finding a Catholic church and attending mass even when he was out of town.
Ed served in the Air National Guard and attended OIT. Ed married the love of his life, Barbara and together they raised 7 children and were married for 66 years.
An avid outdoorsman, Ed loved the joys, activities and fellowship with family and friends that the great outdoors provides. He loved spending quality time on adventures with his family and friends, whether fishing, hunting, camping or going on family trips. Ed would frequently catch the biggest fish or harvest the biggest buck and would have a great story to tell.
Ed was a salesman and entrepreneur at heart. Following many years at Cascade Home Furnishings, he got to realize a dream as he and Barbara founded Andersch Home Furnishings. Ed always put an emphasis with his employees to treat the customer the way they would want to be treated.
Ed was a model of how to be a great husband, father, grandfather, and person. He was selfless, kind, and loyal. He was one of a kind and will be missed terribly.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Walter & Genevieve Andersch, wife Barbara, son Steven, sister Rosemary White, brother Bob Andersch, and grandson Justin Andersch. He is survived by his sister Rudy Igl, brother Jerry Warren (Susan), sister-in-law Hedy Andersch, brother-in-law Gary Hedlund (Mary Beth), children Phil Andersch (Brenda), Tom Andersch (Teri), John Andersch (Mary), Ken Andersch (Dana), Sheryl Coe (Steve), Pat Andersch, 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Public visitation will be on Friday March 17, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the rosary at 10:30 and the funeral mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children's Hospital.
