Geraldine "Geri" Loomis, 85, passed away in Klamath Falls Oregon on September 19, 2021 with family at her side.
Geri was born in Helena Montana on August 23, 1936 to Al and Margaret Loomis. Margaret rode the train from Helena to Klamath Falls when Geri was one month old with her sister Sharlene "Shawn" 20 months.
Geri grew up on Klamath Falls attending Fairhaven Elementary and Klamath Union High School. She graduated in 1954.
She moved to Los Angeles and began a career at General Telephone that lasted 35 years. One of her highlights was befriending and training a budding rock star named Janis Joplin.
Her son, David Loomis, was born in 1960. Geri and David moved in with her sister Shawn, Shawn's husband Harold and their five sons: Jack, Steve, Jim, John and Chris. Shawn and Geri lived together the rest of their lives co-raising their six boys.
The biggest heartbreaks of Geri's life were losing her son David in 2005 and her sister, Shawn, in 2020. Geri was also preceded in death by her Father, Al in 1978, her Mother Margaret in 2002 and brother-in-law Harold in 1974.
Geri is survived by her brother Brad Loomis and wife Cathy; her three grandchildren Rhiannon Masterson, Cole Loomis and Trevor Loomis; great grandsons Max and Miles Masterson; daughter-in-law Lorraine Loomis; nephews and nieces Jack and Tammy Totten, Steve Totten, Jim Totten, John and Diane Totten and Chris Totten; nephews Brad J. Loomis, Joe Loomis and Niece Monica Breedlove. Geri also leaves numerous great nephews and great nieces.
