Henry Calvin Ellington (aka. Duke) passed away peacefully at Sky Lakes Hospital in Klamath Falls, Oregon, on December 3, 2021, at 84 years old. He is survived by two sisters, Betty Gearheart and Carole Blayney, along with two daughters, Pamela Harshman and Brenda Glenn. He was the grandfather of six grandchildren; Jarrod VanHoose, Alisha Torres, Danita Sommerfield, Charlene Blumenthal, Tabitha McInturff, and Omega Glenn, who blessed him with four great grandchildren; Lydia Torres, David McInturff, Evelyn McInturff and Abigail VanHoose.
During Henry’s early years, he loved equestrian riding and jumping. He was the proud owner of Chester, a beautiful horse that won several championships. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed canning his bounty and making jerky. Some of his grandchildren called him “Grandpa Go Fishing” because he would take them fishing in his boat, ‘The Blue Fin’. In his later years, he rebuilt a 1962 Thunderbird that won several awards at collector shows and rallies.
He requested that no memorial or funeral be held. His family will have a private ash spreading to celebrate his life after New Years.
