James Dewitt Henry

James “Jim” Dewitt Henry, Born August 9, 1947, passed peacefully December 19, 2019.

James is survived by his loving wife, Linda Dart Henry, Sons Chris Henry, Robert Henry, and Rick Henry, Step Daughter Angela Piazzini, Grandchildren Jaylynn, Tommy, Matthew, Colton, Cody, Isabel, Wyatt, and Tori.

Jim was born in Bakersfield, but then the family moved to Tulelake where James graduated High School in 1965. Jim married his first wife, Janell, shortly after graduation and before joining the Marines where he served honorably. Jim was a combat veteran in the Vietnam conflict.  After serving in the Marines, Jim returned to the Klamath Basin, where Jim and Janelle had three sons. He worked for Weyerhauser for 25 years until they closed down, and then he worked for the Klamath County Road Department until his retirement in 2009.  Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, and later camping with his wife Linda with their travel trailer.  After his retirement, Jim and Linda would travel to southern Nevada and Arizona as “Snowbirds” each winter for a month or two away from the frigid Klamath winters to enjoy warmer weather.

Funeral services will be held at O’Hair-Ward’s Funeral Chapel on Monday December 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM.
