    Johnny Gray Long passed away on December 11, 2023, at his home in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Johnny was born on June 10, 1931, in Monroe Arkansas, to his mother Rosa Lee and father Jesse Bronte Long.

    Johnny was the youngest of four children, with older brothers Burvil and Loman and sister Jessie.

    The family moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1947. Johnny attended Klamath Union High School while also working at Kalpine Plywood. Johnny enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean conflict serving as a Crew Chief on a F-86 Saber Jet and later on a F-89 Scorpion Jet with tours in Korea, Okinawa, and Formosa (Taiwan).

    Following his enlistment, Johnny was self-employed as a log truck driver in the Newport area; owned a service station in Klamath Falls; worked for Klamath Hardwoods; drove log truck in Coverdale California; worked on the Natural Gas pipeline between Canada and Antioch California; drove cement truck and water truck; ran a laundry route, and worked at Circle Dee in Klamath Falls.

    During these job searching years, Johnny married Patsy Brown in 1957. Together they had a son Scott and daughters Tammy and Kim. In 1968 Johnny returned to the plywood mill which is now known as Columbia Plywood, and over the years worked his way up through the company.

    His wife Patsy passed suddenly in 1982, and in 1984 he married Janice Salerno who had two children, Rob and Angie Salerno.

   Johnny retired from Columbia Plywood in 1993 as a Supervisor in the Forestry Department. Johnny and Jan spent his retirement years traveling in their motorhome and at time-shares, and enjoying their children and grandchildren.

    Johnny is survived by his wife Janice Long, children Don Anderson, Scott Long, Tammy Baker, Kim and Danny Clark, Rob and Ronna Salerno, Angie and Lance Lindow, grandchildren Eric Baker, Teesha and Jake Zufelt , Dakota and Mayra Clark, Madison and Josh Thorpe, Darian and Loren Meeker, Nikki and Jeff Ochoa, Gray and Tori Prescott, Annika Lindow, Jacob and Katie Mauro, Tyler Anderson and eight great-grandchildren.

    Johhny was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and their wives, a sister and her husband, son-in-law Bob Hickey, and granddaughter Brittany Prescott.

    A family service will take place at a later date.
