Johnny (John) Wendell Powell 91. passed away Sunday December 5, 2021 at his residence in Klamath Falls, Ore. with family by his side.
Johnny attended Klamath Union High School and after graduation he enlisted in the Navy and served during the Korean War from 1948-1952. He married Barbara Janice Tuthill in 1951 in Sacramento Ca.
After discharge Johnny and Barbara settled in Keno, Ore. where Johnny went to work for Weyerhaeuser from 1955 to 1985. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping and traveling.
Johnny was a life member of the VFW, NRA and member and volunteer of the OHA. Johnny and Barbara were married for 60 years.
Johnny is surviored by his daughter, Debbie (Jerry) Morgan, Klamath Falls, Son Larry (Elain) Powell, Keno, Sister Judy Rockholt, Klamath Falls, and Daugher-in-Law, Sharon Powell, Mt Evelyn, Australia, Sister-in-law Betty Halverson, Vacaville, Ca., seven grandchildren, six great grandsons, five great grandaughters and numerous nices and nephews.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents EV and Lillie B. Powell, wife Barbara Powell, son Steve Powell, brother Daniel Powell, and Sister Marjorie Blair.
Johnny will be laid to rest next to Barbara with Military Honors.
