Linda Younger Obituary

Linda Gail Chasteen Younger was born November 1, 1943, in the same room as her mother, in Perry, Florida. This was at her grandparent’s, Dewitt T. King and Amanda McMullen King’s home. Her mother was Kathryn King Chasteen and her father was Hugh Franklin Chasteen, Jr;, both of whom have previously passed. Linda was raised in Lake City, Florida, after her father returned from serving in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Linda passed away on April 10, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Holmes Younger. They celebrated their 60th Anniversary on November 25, 2021. Linda is also survived by her 5 children, Laurie Kim Younger, Jeffery Scott (Tracy) Younger, Larry James (Louise) Younger, Bruce Alan (Richelle) Younger, Eric Dwayne (Summer) Younger. One sister, Peggy (Rual) Anderson, 2 brothers, Alan (Suzanne) Chasteen, Donald (Jintana) Chasteen; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two baby girls on the way.

Linda graduated from Columbia High School in 1961. She was a rare beauty, who ran for Tobacco queen. She moved to Jacksonville, FL shortly after graduating from high school, and met Larry, who was stationed there while serving in the U.S. Navy. After his service, they lived in several places; settling in Idaho. Linda worked for the Forest Service in Idaho City, ID, and received a promotion as a Real Estate Specialist at the Bureau of Land Management in 2001, moving to Klamath Falls, OR. She retired in 2009 and spent every winter in Wellton, AZ playing golf and – being a naturally talented artist, painted many paintings for her children and family. Linda loved her Lord and Savior Jesus more than anything, and her passing leaves a huge void in our family.
