Louise Sukraw Holst

Louise A. (Sukraw) Holst, 69, a resident of Klamath Falls, died July 8, 2023 with her “boy” Nik, a golden retriever, kissing her goodbye. Public Visitation will be from 2 pm to 6 pm on Friday July 28 at O'Hair-Wards Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday July 29 at New Horizon Christian Church. A reception will follow, prior to interment services at Mt. Laki Cemetery.

Louise was born in Klamath Falls to Ralph & Eleanor Sukraw. In 1987, she married Mark Holst. He preceded her in death in 1992. She spent her working years as the owner of The Family Hairloom salon in Klamath Falls. In addition to the salon, she occupied her time with the Grange. She gave fifty-plus years of service to the Grange, and held many state offices since 1987.

In her “spare time”, she enjoyed playing croquet, all manner of card games, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, camping, and spending time with all the stylists at her salon. She also loved her trips to Reno with her husband Mark and uncle Guy – playing the Blackjack table. Louise was proud to have been able to build the house of her dreams in 2004; and was also a proud member of the Sons & Daughters of Italy and Order of Eagles. Also very important to her were her precious dogs: Corky, Tar, Doxie, Barney, Shine, and most recently Nik.

Louise is survived by her brother Lee Sukraw; and special partner and soul-mate Phil Van Buren, and many extended family members and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Mark Holst; parents Ralph & Eleanor Sukraw; uncle Guy Galletti; and grandparents Tony & Angela Galletti.
