Marvin Yunck Obituary

Marvin Eugene Yunck, 77, passed away at his home in Keno, Oregon on January 1, 2024.

Marvin was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon in May 1946 to Raymond and Thelma Yunck. One of four children, including a twin sister, he attended Shasta Elementary School, Altamont Junior High and Klamath Union High School. Marvin played Babe Ruth baseball and American Legion Baseball as a member of the Falcons.

Marvin and wife Barbara married in 1970 and made their home in Keno, raising two children, Mia and Lance. He worked for Weyerhauser and Collins Products. Marvin continued his involvement with baseball, coaching little league and all-star teams.

An avid hunter and fisherman, many warm memories were made aboard his boat, camping and on annual trips to the beach with family and friends. Those friends remember him as a kind soul, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need.

Marvin had a fondness for plaid flannel and a cold beer, and in recent years, he enjoyed playing pool with friends and watching sports on the couch with his cat, Jojo.

Marvin will be greatly missed by his daughter, Mia (Stuart) Hicks; son, Lance (Kara) Yunck; granddaughters Melissa (Kyle) Nielson, Emily (Brian) Reverman and Leighton Yunck; his great-grandsons, Owen and Clay; his sister Lavonne (Ron) Lankford; brother Bob (Diane) Yunck; twin sister Marilyn [Lloyd] Gustin; and his cat, Jojo.

Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, and his parents.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
