Obituary
Mary Jo Dixon, a resident of Bonanza, OR died March 6, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday March 21, at Bonanza Memorial Park.
Mary Jo was born in Klamath Falls on Feb. 28, 1935, to Robert & Julia Brittain. She attended Altamont Elementary and Junior High schools; graduating from Klamath Union in 1953. She then married Lon Helbig and had two sons: Mike and Ron. The family moved around to various locations while Lon was in the military.
After a divorce, she moved back to Klamath Falls and worked at Miller’s Department store. She met at married Ralph Dixon in 1966. The couple made their home in Bonanza thereafter. Mary Jo then began a 24-year career with the Klamath County School District, retiring in 1997.
Some of her favorite activities included league bowling and monthly pinochle game with her dear friends.
Mary Jo is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Julia Ann & Chuck Johnson of Klamath Falls; grandchildren Dallas Helbig of Medford, OR, Kelli Jo Brawner of Princeton, TX; sisters-in-law Janey Simmons (George) of Bonanza, OR, Donna Dixon of Woodland, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Dixon; and sons Mike Helbig and Ron Helbig.
