Patricia & Lawrence Garcia

Larry and Pat Garcia who were married for over 65 years passed away at each others side January 13th due to Covid complications. 
Larry was born in California to Henry and Evelyn in 1937. Pat was also born in California to Walter and Evelyn in 1940. They met while attending Hayward High School and married in 1955.  A year later they welcomed their first daughter,  Debbie and five years later their second daughter,  Julie.
Larry worked in the concrete industry which allowed Pat to remain home and enjoy their girls.
They moved to Oregon in 1988 where they purchased a combination grocery store and postal contract station.  After keeping the entire family busy for years, they sold it and enjoyed spending time with each other and with their family.  They enjoyed traveling - road trips to different casinos being one of their favorites.  However; their top favorite pastime was spending time with - and spoiling their grandkids and great-grandkids.  Debbie had three boys, Tony, Jimmy and Matt.  Their great grandchildren,  Jordan,  Alyssa,  Dylan and Rylie also experienced the love of "papa and nanny" as did all of Julie's "fur babies" throughout the years.  No child or animal was ever overlooked. They loved them all.
Larry and Pat rarely spent time apart and truly enjoyed one another -  a surprise to most upon hearing they'd been married so long!  Their beloved daughter Debbie passed away in 1996 leaving their daughter, Julie Juarez the only surviving child.  Other family members are their grandsons - Tony Rose, Jimmy Rose and Matt Sutherland, their great grandchildren Jordan, Alyssa,  Dylan and Rylie, Tom and Erin who were loved as family, sister Chris and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services at Mt Calvary Cemetery on Thursday January 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM, with an outdoor Celebration of Life to follow in April.  Information on this will be provided  in the near future. Donations to an animal organization of your choice is appreciated in lieu of flowers.
