Philip Palumbo Obituary

Philip John Palumbo, 60, passed away peacefully October 5, 2019, losing his battle with pancreatic cancer in Roseburg, Oregon.  Phil was born September 29, 1959 on Okinawa, Japan; the son of Philip and Audrey Palumbo who were serving in the Armed Forces, U.S. Army.  Phil attended grammar school and high school in Klamath Falls, Oregon but then moved to Reno, Nevada where he spent 20 years as a casino restaurateur.  During this time, he met the love of his life, Nathan, who was a caring and devoted partner.  Phil returned to Klamath Falls in 1994 to care for his ailing mother where he continued to work as a restaurant manager.  In 2012, Phil relocated to Tucson, Arizona to live with family while working as the Executive Director to the CEO of Life Cycles Arizona.  He was extremely instrumental in the daily operations of the company, working with parents of incarcerated inmates in an effort to reunite the families.  Phil’s positive personality was infectious, he befriended the manager of his apartment complex and became famous to residents as the Palace Activities Director, exuberating joy wherever he went.  Phil became a snowbird in the summer of 2019, traveling to Oregon on the Umpqua River, spending time with friends and family.  Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Philip Palumbo, his uncle, Leo B. Gorcey, and his partner, Nathan.  Phil is survived by his sister Michelle See and brother in law, Paul See; brother Mike Palumbo and sister in law Gail Palumbo; brother Chuck Palumbo and sister in law Barbara Palumbo; and brother Steve Palumbo.  Nieces and nephews include: Joe DiBrito, Angee Wright, Chris Palumbo, Danny Palumbo, Star Palumbo, Ciri Corbin, Jenny Palumbo, Rachel Buse, and Jason Buse.  Phil is also survived by over 16 great nieces/nephews and other relatives/numerous special friends.  He was loved by many.  Phil will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Klamath Falls, Oregon on October 18, 2019 at 1:30 PM.
