Robert "Bobby" LeRoy Tofell

1939 - 2021

Robert (Bobby) Tofell, 81, passed away at his home in Bonanza Oregon on April 7th, 2021. He was born in Merrill Oregon on August 17th 1939, to John and Erma Tofell and was the oldest of 7 siblings’. He met his future wife Mary Kruger in Klamath Falls and they were married in 1961.

He attended and graduated from Bonanza High School and then went on to study diesel mechanics at Oregon Institute of Technology.

His greatest interest was OIT sports as well as local high school sports. He was an avid classic car fan and a farmer at heart.

He is survived by his adored wife of 59 years Mary Tofell, 2 loving daughters, Dana Weston and Judi and (Dan) Chancellor. His much loved granddaughters, Amber Weston and Nicole and (Ian) Anaya, as well as numerous nieces’ nephews and cousins and many other family members.

Everyone who knew Bobby knew he was always in his “famous blue coveralls”. If he had to go to town or had a doctor’s appointment, he was known to change out of his “blue coveralls”, into a clean pair of “blue coveralls”! And so, in keeping with his style and taste in clothes Bobbie will be laid to rest in his “famous blue coveralls”!

Bobby was a kind and gentle soul who never met a stranger.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

At Bobby’s request, there will be no services.

Bobby, I'll miss your smile and your quiet, steadfast demeanor.  I cherish all the memories of our childhood days ~ as in milking cows, watching you with your famous “Hook Shot’ in basketball, standing with a shovel in your hand while irrigating. Farming “The Big Hill”; just to mention one or two.  There are so many flashbacks of my brother ~ too many to mention!!  I pray that god gives you a “TRACTOR” in heaven!  Love you ~ Karen

Bob! You’ll be greatly missed. I wish I could have ran into you and Mary more frequently after college. I’m so glad we were able to visit last fall and you showed us your high school car. Thanks for all the love and support. Rest easy.
