Royal Wise

Royal Wise, 92, passed away on April 12, 2023 in from heart disease. Royal was born in Longview, WA on Jan 14, 1931 to Guy and Neoma Wise. Royal had two sisters and two brothers. He lived most of his life in Washington, graduating from Kelso High School and Central Washington College of Education (now CWU). He also earned a Master’s degree from Indiana University.  Royal served in the Navy during the Korean War. At college he met the love of his life, Karen. They were married 64 years when Karen passed away. Royal was a health and PE instructor and swim coach at Highline Community College in Midway, WA.  After retirement, Royal and Karen moved to Yakima, WA. They moved to Oregon in 2000.  Royal was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a Lifetime Member of Kiwanis.  He enjoyed water-based activities, woodworking, gardening, volunteering, and his family.
Royal is survived by his son Kim (Wanda) Wise and two daughters, Janice (Jon) Hicks and Glenda (Paul) Waldburger.  He also has seven grandchildren, Eric, Chris (deceased), Kari, Ryan (deceased), Alex, Nich, and Alicia, and three great-grandchildren, Kensi, Kendall, and Gage. Memorial services will be held at the United Methodist Church / 230 N 10th Street in Klamath Falls /  on June 17, 2023 at 10:00 am.
