Stanley Stonier Obituary

Stanley Stonier passed away on December 5, 2021 in Klamath Falls, Oregon.  Stanley was born to Stanley and Theresa Stonier in Fairbanks, Alaska on December 1, 1942.  He was the first-born of two sons.  Their family eventually ended up in San Jose, California, where his father homesteaded land in the hills near San Jose.  Stan loved the hills, and spent most of his time there.  He attended Modesto Junior college, where he received his degree in animal science and also met his wife, Liz. They married in Monterey, California in 1963 and began their life of ranching together in the hills east of San Jose.  Frank, their only son, was born in 1964.

Stan worked as a ranch manager while also raising his own herd of cattle, and in 1978 he and Liz moved to Beatty, Oregon, where he worked on the OCE Railroad for ten years, while continuing to build his cattle herd. He ranched all his life, and everything he did was centered around his cattle and the land he loved.  He was a lifetime member of the North American Limousin Foundation; American Angus Association; and the American Charolais Association.

He is survived by his wife Dolores (Liz) Stonier; his son Frank Stonier (Christy); granddaughters Kelsey Munson (Taylor) and Kayla McCaffrey (Justin); great grandchildren Tyson Munson and Hazel McCaffrey; and his younger brother Rea Stonier (Carol).
