Starla Hazel Streed

Starla Hazel Streed, 65, of Dorris, CA passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021, at her home with her daughters by her side.

Starla was born October 4, 1955, in Klamath Falls, OR, to Ronald and Lila (Winebarger) Stumbaugh. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved the sport of rodeo. She also loved gambling and going on “walk abouts”. Starla was very passionate about her job at Pave Tech.  She started at the company in 2001 as a flagger and quickly worked her way into a traffic control lead person. As the years progressed, she moved up to a foreman position and retired in 2018 as a superintendent. She loved her job and considered the Pave Tech crew her family, particularly Larry and Aida Keepers.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Hollie and Will Griffith, Daughter and son in law, Becky and Bob Vaughan, daughter, Jamie Streed, Mother Lila Stumbaugh, brother and sister-in-law, Flint and Vickie Stumbaugh, sister and brother-in-law, Heidi and Frank Rosecrans, granddaughters, Jaycee and Jessie Remstedt, grandsons Bobby and Bodie Vaughan, great grandchildren, Everett and Quinley O’Grady and many other nieces, nephews and very special friends. She was preceded in death by her father Ronald Stumbaugh, grandparents Clifford and Hilda Stumbaugh and niece Kirby Rosecrans.

There will be a celebration of Starla’s life on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the Community Center located at 52900 Hwy 97, Dorris, CA 96023. There will be a potluck reception to follow.
