After high school, Bill enlisted in the US Airforce. After basic training and schooling, he was sent to Munich, Germany. While there, he met the love of his life – a little German gal named Gabriele. It was a match made in heaven. They were soon married on October 6, 1956. In 1957, their oldest son, Robert, was born. In 1958, Bill was sent back to the States to complete his military commitment. His wife and son followed, and they started their new life in Klamath Falls. Bill worked for, and retired after a 34 year career, from Columbia Plywood.

Bill loved hunting, fishing, and all sports. For many years he coached his kids on their childhood sports teams. Later, you could find him in the bleachers or on a golf course watching his grandkids.

For the last few years, Bill had some health struggles. He was a fighter and fought with strength for years. His passing has left a big hole in his family, and he will be dearly missed.
